He died at the age of almost 85. He was a servant of God, a friend, a priest who loyally served the Body of Christ until his last breath, all the world round. The Lord gave him an extraordinary intellect and wisdom, together with the experience of baptism in the Holy Spirit. He also received from God the talent and ability to provide specific and comprehensible theological explanations and descriptions of spiritual experiences that are taking place within the Church, notably after the Second Vatican Council. - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Do you know who is looking at us...
It was very hard at the beginning... In her life and in my life with her..
I didn’t really know much about Zuzka’s disease. I had something in mind. It was a picture of a similar child I saw in a health magazine – and, to be honest with you, I was frightened when I saw it. I asked the doctors, I knew that something was not ok. The doctors poured out a number of Latin words, but nothing was clear for me. I was completely unhappy. We were also under quarantine, so my husband could not come and all our communication consisted in strips of papers we were throwing in and out through the window. Finally, somebody uttered the word: mongoloid.
Zuzka has her own spiritual life. I think that these children understand certain things in a much simpler way than we do, while we spend our time intellectualizing about what is this or what is that. You tell them that it is like that; and they would trust you and believe within their soul.
Once we were walking on the streets and two young men were looking at two girls. I said: “Zuzka, look, they like those girls. Let’s see if they like us as well!" Of course they didn’t even notice us. So I told Zuzka: “What a failure!” And she replied: “But you know who is looking at us – that’s enough for us.”
These children very often see the essence of things much more profoundly than we do. This aspect is also reflected in her prayers. For example, when something bad happens in the world, Zuzka does not limit herself to a sigh by just saying: “It’s awful…” She says: “We have to pray together, because those people were hit by a tragedy; a tsunami came...” So we pray for long, long time, because those people are poor and she is quite touched by all this.
